Ken Downing, Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus, always wanted to capture the looks spring using the colors of the rainbow. During the NBAF runway show models donned pieces in a color prism starting at white and ending in black. “It was a fantastic chance to do the entire color wheel spectrum in bold high voltage colors. I never get a chance to do it and it is something I always wanted to do,” Downing says. “ The first four girls are the only ones who had changes. The nails were dyed to match the outfit.” Women rocked monochromatic looks including all white jeans paired with a white shirt and white leather jacket. The colors then slowly shifted from stark white to white and beige embellished with layers of pearl and gold accessories. Downing is a fan of the over done accessories popularized by the likes of Trinidad James. “ I love it. You can never wear to many accessories,” He says. “ If you wake up and put on two pieces you are not waking up in Neiman.” Photos by Chris Mitc
